You Are What You Eat
You are What you Eat

Performance Installation
Ethos: While living in China I created this piece to express the contemporary moment of Chinese youth. A moment in which all things western have become the objects and images of desire. Western brands, foods, cars, building and planning typologies are considered glamorous progress. It is desire that finds its genesis in western media of film, music, and advertising. Upon asking the typical student about this little thought is given to how the mental and physical consumption of goods and the subsequent abandonment of one’s traditions will affect the Chinese culture and Chinese people.
